21 Jun What I shoot with, because you ask
For those who attempt to get into the pro photography world, many start with the same questions: What does xxxxx photographer shoot with? If I get the same camera, I will be able to take similar picture. The reality cannot be any further from the truth. But since the questions comes up often, I will still write about that what I shoot with. Simply said, I shoot Fujifilm if you didn’t know from my previous posts.
I know I know… Most people shoot Canon or Nikon, I have been there and there nothing wrong with shooting with these two. They have the largest selection of lenses and unequalized reliability. But for my needs and budget, The Fujifilm system is right for me! Now let’s start with bodies I use!
This is my main body, I use it for all of my contacts including weddings and portraits. It is a small formidable machine with amazing low light performance in a very affordable package and is packed with amazing options like 4k video. All the buttons and dials are just amazing for manual shooters like myself And as superficial as it sounds, it just looks sexy as hell.
This is actually my first Fujifilm camera with interchangeable lens. I bought it to give a chance to Fujifilm while I was shooting with Nikon cameras. This is even smaller than the X-T2 yet does not sacrifice much on the image quality, the only reason it is worse is because of its age as it is from a previous generation from the X-T2. It does not stop it from taking fabulous professional shots.
Well camera bodies would not be complete without lenses now would it? The great thing about Fujifilm lenses, most of them are just amazing. The same cannot be said for other brands. Prices are also generally lower without sacrificing on the build quality. I won’t mention all the lenses, here are two of my favorites!
Fujinon XF56mm f1.2 R
My go-to lens for most of my portraits. It is on my camera 80% of the time and it is just amazing in every way possible. It just renders beautiful colours with great subject separation from the background.
Fujinon XF35mm f1.4 R
My first Fujifilm lens! This one is super compact but once again does not sacrifice on quality. As it is one of the first, it is pretty slow at autofocus but generally have no issues on my side as I do not really shoot fast subjects. I generally use this one over the 56mm when I need something just a bit wider.
So here you are! Cameras and lenses I most often shoot with.
